How to Find the Right List

Q: If I know what kind of data that I’m looking for, how do I find a good list provider and the right list?
A: Here are some key things to look for when selecting a list provider: 1) Do they have the best source of the data that you are looking for? If you are looking for specialty data, the best way to find it is to use the free service/list finder from NextMark (www.nextmark.com). This is a database of over 60,000 mailing lists. If the list is for sale, usually it’s on NextMark. We use the service all the time. If you’re looking for compiled data (such as lists selected by geographic area and basic demos like age and income, or for businesses–type and size of business), its all about the relationship you can forge with the compiler. Find a sales rep that is responsive to you, can think outside of the box and will go the extra mile to negotiate internally on your behalf to get you the best deal.
